Sixth season win in the AWHL
In the win2day Austrian Women’s Hockey League, the Sabres secured an important 7-2 away victory against the Graz Huskies. After just 70 seconds, the Sabres got off to a perfect start, with Lena Artner opening the scoring with her first of two goals.
However, the Huskies showed great determination and equalized in the 13th minute. But the team from St. Pölten remained focused and managed to take a 3-1 lead by the first intermission. In the second period, the Sabres took advantage of their chances and extended their lead to 6-1 by the 40th minute.
In the final period, the hosts remained engaged, but in the 48th minute, Rylee Davison made it 7-1. The Sabres' power play was particularly impressive, as five of the seven goals came while on the power play.
With the sixth win of the season in the AWHL, the Sabres, with one game less, continue to closely trail the league leaders, KSV Highlanders.
