Sabres secure Final Four ticket for the AWHL
A perfect start for the Sabres: Just two minutes into the game, they made it 1–0 by ruthlessly capitalizing on an early lapse in concentration by the hosts. The Sabres went on to dominate the first period, creating numerous scoring chances, but the opposing goalie delivered a strong performance and kept her team in the game.
In the second period, the Sabres continued to push for the next goal but struggled with poor finishing. Despite their clear dominance, the second period remained goalless.
In the third period, the persistence of the visitors from St. Pölten finally paid off. They made the most of their powerplay opportunities, scoring three goals with the man advantage. During Salzburg's occasional counterattacks, Rosina Fichtinger once again proved why she is considered the backbone of her team with a series of composed and confident saves.
Despite the home team’s determined resistance, the Sabres celebrated a commanding 4–0 victory.
With today's victory, the Sabres have already secured a place among the top 4 teams in the AWHL early on.
